International Baccalaureate World School: Millbrook High School
We are pleased to announce that the Millbrook Central School District has been authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Beginning in September of 2017, the Millbrook High School will offer IB Diploma Programme courses.
As an IB school, the Millbrook High School will be part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world. The positive results of the International Baccalaureate Programme will become evident in our community as classes of the Diploma Programme students graduate and undertake activities that enhance social, cultural and economic environments locally, nationally and internationally.
IB Mission Statement:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and reigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that people, with their differences, can also be right.
