Fall 2017 Superintendent's Letter

Dear Millbrook Central School District Residents:

I hope you have had an enjoyable summer!

On behalf of the Board of Education, Administrators, Faculty & Staff, I want to welcome
everyone back for the 2017-2018 school year.

It was a busy summer preparing for the 2017-2018 school year. We made improvements
to our facilities, hired new staff for positions vacated by retirements, and finalized other
preparations for the new school year.

We implemented many changes to support continuous school improvement for the new
school year. A few of these changes include the following: changes in student school
hours (start & end times), expansion of our school breakfast program, and the initiation
of the International Baccalaureate Programme in the High School. The foundation of the
International Baccalaureate Programme is an inquiry-based approach to learning. Our
District is committed to this educational model which will prepare students to have the
skills necessary to experience success in life.

We hope that all of our students are able to experience the three “A”s – Academics, the
Arts & Athletics – during their time in the Millbrook Central School District. We want our
students to enhance their education with a variety of activities, and we hope that they
take advantage of the many opportunities we offer, both in and out of the classroom.

Although we made many changes, one thing that is consistent and unchanging is the
dedication and commitment that our staff has for the students of our District. This
dedication & commitment will take our District to the top!

Sincerely,

Philip D. D’Angelo, Jr.
