National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Congratulations to Aaron Greene, who was named a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Aaron is one of 15,000 recipients in the Finalist category. Students who are selected to receive the Merit Scholarship will be notified in March. This is a huge accomplishment and we are very proud of Aaron!

SEPTA Workshop - Planning for Adulthood

Please join us for an information workshop sponsored by the Millbrook SEPTA - Planning for Adulthood:  Life after High School, College, and Career Readiness Discussion.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Millbrook Middle School Library/Media Center located at 43 Alden Place, Millbrook, New York.

Third & Fifth Grade Connection

The fifth grade classes hosted a Realistic Fiction Reading for the third grade students. The third graders are just beginning to write their own realistic fiction stories and have been studying "theme" in reading. As a culminating celebration, the fifth graders shared their stories and discussed what theme was illustrated in their writing to help spark the imaginations and ideas for the third graders!

 

Congratulations to Hali Wack Selected to NYS All-State Mixed Chorus!

The Millbrook Music Department is pleased to announce that MHS Junior Hali Wack was selected to the New York State All-State Mixed Chorus. She participated in four days of intense rehearsals and a final concert held at the acclaimed Eastman Theatre in Rochester, NY during the annual Winter Conference of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) held from November 30th throughout December 4th, 2017.

Millbrook Students Selected For All-State Music Festival

The Millbrook Music Department would like to congratulate the following members of the Millbrook Concert Choir and Concert Band for their selection and participation in the Zone 10 Area All-State Festival on Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th. These students were among over 400 students chosen for this festival based on their outstanding NYSSMA Solo Scores and musicianship!

The Patriot’s Pen Writing Contest is for students in grades 6-8 and encourages students to examine America’s history relative to their own experiences in modern American society. Congratulations Aaron Greene!

Congratulations to one of our senior students, Aaron Greene, who has qualified as a Semifinalist in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes academic high achieving students and offers scholarship opportunities. Of the over 1.6 million students who enter, 50,000 students are selected, based off the highest PSAT selection index scores. From there, approximately 16,000 students are selected as Semifinalists. These students are selected as being the top scorers in their states.

Our Students Celebrated The Third Day in Third Grade!

On Friday, September 8th, our third graders celebrated the 3rd Day in 3rd Grade! A day of fun was had with special activities, including party hats and a celebratory picture on the spider web on the playground.

To the Tax Collectors of the Millbrook Central School District, County of Dutchess, New York State:

YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED:

1. To give notice and start tax collection on September 1, 2017, in accordance with the previsions of Sections 1322 and 1366 of the Real Property Tax Law.

2. To give notice that tax collection will end October 31, 2017.

3. To collect taxes in the total sum of $23,684,119 in the same manner that collectors are authorized to collect town and county taxes in accordance with provisions of Section 1318 of the Real Property Tax Law.

New Student School Hours for the 2017-2018 School Year

We are excited to announce that our student hours have changed. Based on educational research, we have modified our student start times and the length of our student school days to set our students up for success. The Middle School and High School start times are now later, which are based on student biorhythms and should support increased student performance. We have also extended the length of all student attendance hours. This will provide more instructional contact time. The new school student hours are listed below:
 

MCSD FCCLA Members Excel At National Conference

Our FCCLA has completed their final day of the 2017 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennesee. Our chapter with 8,000 other people from across the US came together to build leadership skills in students through Family & Consumer Sciences Education.

​This year MCSD's chapter earned it's first ever gold medals!!! Here are our official results:

Mr. Hurley Honored for Board Service
