Veterans Breakfast 2016

On Thursday, November 10, 2016, over twenty-five Veterans had breakfast with many of the 8th Grade Millbrook Middle School students.  The Veterans shared stories of their lives while they served our Country as representatives of all branches of the military.  The soldiers then answered questions from the middle school students in a moving assembly.  Pictured above is Michael DoCarmo and Jacob Higgins who were both members of the Millbrook High School Class of 2015 and are currently serving in the Marines. A special thank you to Mr. Carbone, MMS Physical Education teacher, for organizing this Veterans' Assembly and breakfast!

Alden Students Raise Money For The American Red Cross

Recently, Mrs. Robinson/Loparco's class read an article in Time For Kids about Hurricane Matthew. The article provided details about the hurricane and its impact on communities. The article also discussed ways people are helping. The students decided to start collecting bottles to raise money to send to the American Red Cross, one of the organizations listed in the article. A few students decorated boxes to gather the bottle collections. A big thank you to Jason Osborn who collected over 100 bottles from his family's pumpkin farm to start our collection.
