School Taxes

• For current tax year information and option to pay online, access Info-Tax Online.

• Bills are created by Dutchess County and mailed at the end of August.
• Any address changes need to be made in the town in which the parcel is located.
• If you are paying for multiple parcels, or in cash, please call the School Tax Collector, Amy Cross, at 845.677.4200 ext 1105 to make an appointment.
• All checks should be made payable to "School Tax Collector". Please verify your check is filled out accurately and completely and include your phone number.
• Checks should be dated for the day they are mailed. All checks are deposited immediately.
• Most errors on checks are made on the written line which also is the legal line. Please be sure that the amount written is correct.
• The upper left portion of your bill indicates to whom and where payment should be sent.
• Envelopes must have a readable postmark. If paying close to the deadline, have your envelope hand-stamped inside the Post Office.
• Do you want a receipt? Mail the entire bill. The top portion of the bill will be signed, stamped and returned to you to serve as your receipt. If you do not include it with your payment,  no receipt will be mailed to you.
• Please be advised that post-dated checks will be marked void and returned.

 

 

If Paying in Full:

- September 3, 2025 through October 2, 2025, with no penalty.

- October 3, 2025 to October 31, 2025, must include a 2% late fee.

If paying in full:

September 3, 2025 to October 2, 2025 - 30 days to pay with no penalty

October 3, 2025 to October 31, 2025 - Penalty period, please add a 2% late fee to your full payment. For assistance calculating, call 845-677-4200 x1105. 

 

If paying in two (2) installments: 

The first installment is due by September 15, 2025 plus the 5% installment fee. The first installment is paid directly to the Millbrook School Tax Collector and should be made payable to "School Tax Collector".  Checks may be delivered in person or mailed to PO Box 686, Millbrook, NY 12545.

The second installment is due by March 15, 2026 plus the 5% installment fee.  This is paid directly to Dutchess County and should be made payable to "The Commissioner of Finance" and mailed to:

There is a five percent (5%) service charge on installments, to be paid with each installment of school taxes. The second installment may not be paid until the first installment, and any interest due, has been paid. 

Collection by the school district ends on October 31st. After October 31st, please contact the Dutchess County Commissioner of Finance to arrange your payment: 845.486.2025.

In person: Payment can be dropped in the Locked Safe Deposit Box in the Middle School lobby, 43 Alden Place, open during school hours.

OR

Directly to the School Tax Collector, located in the Business office at the Middle School (middle level entrance), after you have signed in with the Attendant at the lobby window.

School tax payments may be paid in person, via mail or courier services, or *NEW* online!

Payments will be accepted in person, via USPS, or overnight delivery.

If Paying Online:

Find your parcel and pay online through Infotax or scan the QR code if using your mobile device to pay. 

Tax payer will incur the fees charged by Municipay for online transactions. E-checks are $1.50 per transaction. Credit cards incur a 2.75% fee of your total transaction.

If paying in person:

To pay the School Tax Collector directly: Open office hours 9-12pm Monday-Friday, and Thursday evenings during the month of September from 3:30-5:30. Located at the Millbrook Middle School, 43 Alden Place. Please check in with the attendant at the door.

OR

Place your payment in an envelope and drop in our Locked Deposit Box in the lobby of the Millbrook Middle School during open school hours 8am-3:30pm.

Payments without a postmark will be considered dated on the date it is received by the tax collector. Please make sure your envelope is hand stamped by the Postal Service if you are mailing near the deadline.
