STREAM

Science Technology Research Engineering Arts Math (STREAM)

MCSD is dedicated to providing our students with a variety of learning experiences, including those that fall under the umbrella of STREAM. STEM is an educational curriculum that combines science, technology, engineering, and math. It is meant to be a comprehensive approach; instead of teaching each subject separately, educators aim to incorporate some or all elements of STEM into each project. STEAM adds arts to the mix, and STREAM adds reading/research/writing components. All students are given opportunities to engage in these types of activities, ranging from our youngest learners engaging in inquiry-based activities as they tinker and collaborate together to discover how things work (such as robotic mice and circuitry systems) to our middle-grades taking STEM courses and utilizing the Library MakerSpace materials, to our older students taking computer science courses at the HS and participating in SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and hands-on activities in the HS library.
