New York State Education Department Identifies the Millbrook High School as a Recognition School
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has identified Recognition Schools based on 2017-18 school year results. The list containing the Recognition Schools is posted on the district/charter school’s Information Reporting Services portal.
Under New York State’s approved Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Plan, the Department has identified 562 Recognition Schools (including 41 Charter Schools)(4,436 public schools in New York State) in 211 School Districts (766 School Districts in New York State) based on 2017-18 school year results.
To be recognized, elementary and middle schools must have high academic achievement and student growth and high schools must have high academic achievement and graduation rates. School musts also perform acceptably on other accountability indicators for their all students group and not be at risk of identification as a Targeted Support and Improvement school for the performance of any subgroup. The schools were also required to meet ELA and mathematics participation rate criteria for their all students group. For more details on the Recognition School identification criteria, please read the methodology document.
Each Recognition School will receive, under separate cover, a Certificate of Recognition from the Commissioner.
I am very pleased to announce that the Millbrook High School has been identified as a Recognition School.
Congratulations to the Millbrook High School administration, faculty and staff! Congratulations to our students as this is a testament to their academic achievements!
